Student Life at CATS Academy Boston

CATS Boston is not just a school; it’s a place where students find a second family, making their educational journey an enriching and unforgettable experience. With our vibrant multicultural community, we offer students locally and from around the world a nurturing environment where they can thrive academically and personally.

With a strong sense of community embedded into our culture and ethos, our staff are fully emersed in developing and delivering our beliefs outside of the classroom. Each day our students are growing, developing, and maturing into positive, contributing global citizens of today’s society.

What Students Can Expect At CATS Academy Boston

A High School Diploma is a North American academic school qualification awarded upon high school graduation. It is an internationally recognized level of educational achievement that gives you the ideal start for progression to one of the best universities or colleges in the U.S. It is studied over the course of four years, from Grade 9 to Grade 12. You can join CATS Academy for one year, or for all of the four years.

CATS Academy educates students from Grade 8. The Grade 8 curriculum is designed to pave the way for a firm grasp of the core subjects required to successfully complete the High School Diploma program. Students are also taught key study skills to launch them successfully into Grade 9.

    With 25% of our cohort consisting of American students, international students will study and live closely with their American counterparts. Our multicultural environment fosters cultural exchange, allowing international students to gain a deeper understanding of American customs, traditions, and values, while also sharing their own perspectives and backgrounds. This enriching blend of cultures not only enhances the overall educational experience but also promotes global awareness, preparing our students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

    CATS Boston is a true home away from home for all students. Our academic staff team and live-in Dorm Parents are always on hand to provide the highest standard of safety and care, and help students settle into the school by creating a caring and comfortable home.

    CATS Boston has an extensive extracurricular and excursion program throughout the year. These activities give you the opportunity to keep up your passions from home, try new things, and stay healthy, develop academically, stretch your creative skills and enhance your university or college application.

    Immersive English

    All school life is conducted in English, giving every student the opportunity to master the language in both academic and social settings. Our immersive education style nurtures every student to build knowledge, become resilient and achieve the best outcomes in life. For international students who need additional English language support, our English as a Second Language electives are available.

The welfare of our students is incredibly important to us, and the school is structured to support students throughout their journey with us.

    Personal Advisor

    Every student is assigned a Personal Advisor who will provide them with guidance and support so they can achieve their best. Your advisor will assist you with any problems you may and will work with you to identify goals you want to achieve and the steps you need to take to successfully achieve those goals. Twice each semester, your parents will receive reports from your advisor to provide them with an overall understanding of how you are progressing at CATS Boston.

    Student Orientation

    During orientation we help students make CATS Boston their second home. As well as introducing students to studying in the U.S, we help with setting up bank accounts and cell phones, finding the local shopping areas, bus routes and learning your way around Boston. We encourage students to make friends and sign-up for clubs and societies to further enhance their CATS Boston experience.

    Supportive Dorm Parents

    We pride ourselves on our happy school community. Our team of live-in Dorm Parents are on hand 24-hours a day to provide the highest standard of care, and assist students settle into their residences by creating a caring and comfortable home. House Parent also make teachers aware of issues that happen outside of the classroom such as homesickness or trouble with homework, so every student is fully supported.

    Student Council

    At the heart of the school community is Student Government. It helps create recreational and academic events for the students acting as the voice of their peers. Being involved teaches you how to work with others, how to develop leadership skills, how to take initiative, and it helps build your university or college application.
